Where did you grow up and how did you get into fitness?
I was born and raised in Rhode Island, just outside of Providence. Competitive sports were never my thing, in fact, I lasted two weeks on the cross country team in high school then promptly joined the drama club. It wasn't until college that I truly fell in love with fitness both for the physiological and mental benefits of it.
The outset of my career was in television. I worked my way into local news reporting but started to lose zeal for the job. My relationship with fitness grew deeper once I discovered group fitness, and came to the realization that the experience felt so much more powerful when I was working out alongside my friends! So I made a deliberate career change - and traded in my handheld microphone for a headset mic!
What do you love most about teaching?
I'm a people lover so it's all about the Members for me. I've been told that I'm pretty good at making people better - healthier, stronger, more confident, more present - so that's reason enough for me!
What excites you the most about joining the Peloton team?
I'm still pinching myself because I get to be a part of what is, hands-down, the most innovative company in the fitness industry - and one of the most innovative tech companies in the entire world! Period. Not only that, but I get the opportunity to work side-by-side with this team of remarkable, world-class fitness instructors, who you will quickly be obsessed with.
What can Members expect in your classes?
It's always a party! I'm not a believer in the fact that we have to suffer through our workouts - it doesn't mean it's always going to be easy, but the onus is on me to always make it fun! I promise you I won't let you down!
