How did you get into fitness?
I was always on different sports teams such as field hockey, lacrosse, track and cheerleading. I went to college and had trouble figuring out what I wanted to major in but I was good with numbers so my guidance counselor suggested taking a few finance classes. I wound up excelling in the classes and the competitive nature of the business intrigued me.
When I graduated I went to work on Wall St. for a few years, first in equity sales and then in equity trading. I loved meeting people and connecting with clients but instead of going to fancy dinners I'd take them to fitness classes and to grab a green juice. I really missed being a part of a team and the motivation that came along with it. I wasn't feeling fulfilled and sitting at a desk all day started to eat away at me. I made a plan and decided to trade in my business casual for a microphone and leggings.
What do you love most about teaching?
I love seeing people do things they never thought that they could. I love building a community with like-minded people and watching the camaraderie build around it. I am so thankful that my job allows me to share my passion with people every single day.
