There’s no place like home. That’s why the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel developed its health and wellness offerings to help guests keep up the routines that make them feel their best at their “home away from home.” With three Peloton Bikes available to guests in the 250-room property—two in the fitness center and one in-room via the Sweat Suite—this Sacramento hotel makes staying active easy.
Travelers today make their well-being a priority, and that impacts their choice of accommodation: 90 percent of Peloton Members are more likely to stay at a property if it has a Peloton Bike, according to a 2022 Peloton survey. The Kimpton Sawyer has seen firsthand how much guests appreciate being able to fit a workout into their stay; since the hotel first added Peloton Bikes to its amenities in 2017, its guests have logged nearly 9,000 rides, with an average of 108 rides completed each month.
“We believe that wellness should be seamlessly integrated into every aspect of a guest’s stay,” says general manager Nikki Glass. Here’s how Peloton has helped The Kimpton Sawyer Hotel do just that.
On-the-Go Wellness
Whether they’re traveling for business or pleasure, “guests are looking to stay at hotels that offer amenities that allow them to stay in sync with their fitness routine,” Glass says. At a hotel with Peloton Bikes, guests can log into their account to keep up their workout streak and take classes with instructors like Ally Love and Emma Lovewell, no matter how far they are from home.
“Our Peloton Bikes have been a guest favorite,” Glass adds, thanks to their convenience and the flexibility they offer for guests. “Because they’re so popular, we are in the process of adding a third Peloton Bike to our gym!”
Personalized Training
Fitness is highly personal—which is why the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel offers a range of wellness amenities in its state-of-the-art fitness center, as well as sunrise yoga classes, yoga-Pilates fusion classes, and guided meditation sessions. It’s the mission of the hotel to “provide wellness beyond the traditional gym setting,” Glass says.
Peloton Bikes have “elevated” the property’s already considerable offerings, Glass adds, as they—along with the hotel’s various other wellness events and amenities—allow “guests to engage with fitness and relaxation in ways that suit their personal preferences and schedules.”
Attracting New Guests
Peloton’s extensive class library has options for riders of all levels, so Peloton Bikes are a plus for both fitness fanatics and guests who might be newer to cycling. For that reason, Glass says, “investing in Peloton equipment is a smart decision.”
The Kimpton Sawyer’s Sweat Suite, which gives guests the opportunity to have a Peloton Bike in the privacy of their own room, has been a “standout success,” she adds, and it has helped drive satisfaction and loyalty among guests. “We prioritize wellness offerings that are innovative, accessible, and tailored to the diverse needs of our guests,” Glass says—and Peloton fits the bill.
