How would you describe how you feel after class?

After a Peloton class, I always feel a sense of pride knowing that I participated and gave the ride the best I had for the day.

When you get on your bike, what makes you want to “give it all” during class?

The answer to this is the instructors. Every instructor is encouraging and motivates me to continue the ride, even when I am struggling and not at my best. Also, Peloton has allowed me to set personal records, and I base my efforts on these records.

How has Peloton changed your lifestyle?

I feel that my endurance has improved dramatically since I started riding. This has allowed me to have better focus during the work day and to have more energy when I get home.

Has Peloton helped you through any challenges in your life?

Definitely. I have chronic lower back pain and I have found that riding helps me prevent from having back pain issues.

Your family has gone through some challenge times following Hurricane Harvey. Has being able to ride helped you during this time?

As of the end of August, when I want to ride my Peloton bike I roll it outdoors. When Hurricane Harvey struck the Texas coast over a 3-day window, it dumped over 60 inches of rain onto our community. Our house is 11 feet above the flood stage but on the night of August 30th, we watched the flood waters rise to historic levels. At 4:30 AM water began creeping into our home and would continue to rise until we were under water by 18 inches. We were rescued that morning and it was 5 days until the water rescinded enough that we could drive back to our house.

Of course one of the first things I checked on when I returned to the house was the bike. It wouldn’t work, so we contacted the Support team and they sent us a new AC plug, hoping that was the extent of the damage. Luckily for us, the bike came to life! Currently, our home is being reconstructed. It's been a long and tiring road but getting on the Peloton bike at the end of a strenuous day allows me to forget about our current predicament.

How is Peloton different than any other workouts?

The biggest difference is that I can ride the bike and take a class at any time of the day!

If you could describe your Peloton experience in three words, what would they be and why?

Challenging personal records. Some days I am just not feeling it. However, once I get on that bike and begin pedaling I forget my day and focus on the class. It's satisfying knowing that I can get on that bike and challenge a record I had previously set. It motivates me to get better!
