6 Aussie Members on Their First Year With Peloton
A year after we launched down under, Members share their biggest takeaways from joining the Peloton community.
It’s been a busy first year for Peloton Australia: We’ve welcomed so many Aussie Members to the team, we’ve opened a number of retail locations across the country where people can purchase the Peloton Bike and Peloton Bike+, and we’ve expanded into several Australian boutique hotels. Sport and activity is core to Australia’s DNA, and we’re proud to support our community’s fitness goals and help our Members take their workouts to the next level.
Read on as a few of our Australian Members share how Peloton has motivated, inspired, and changed their perspective this past year.
“I found my groove.” –Rani B. (#RBOV), Victoria
“An interstate move with my family, losing my father suddenly, settling into my career, and navigating kids and home life left me exhausted. Then COVID hit, and I felt like I had everything on my shoulders. I knew I had to make a change and be a little bit selfish. I’m not great about going to the gym, and so I thought Peloton would be the best fit. The moment I got on the Peloton Bike, it just clicked. For 30 minutes a day, I could forget what was going on around me and focus on myself. I found my groove, the instructors I loved (looking at you, Emma Lovewell and Ally Love!) and, most importantly, my motivation again. One year later, I’ve achieved things I never thought I could do again. My entire mindset has shifted, and I’m a more positive and healthier person.”
Rani’s Favorite Classes: Low-impact rides, Pilates, and Aditi Shah’s yoga and meditation classes
“Peloton keeps me coming back week after week.” –George B. (#Ridetowine007), New South Wales
“I have a busy life with three young kids and a full-time job. Finding time to get to the gym wasn’t really an option, and some days even doing a workout outside wasn’t feasible. Peloton gave me a solution that fit with my life and reminded me that staying fit is possible, you just have to find something that’s convenient for you so that you stick with it. Getting a Peloton Bike has enabled me to focus on my physical and mental well-being while still being able to be around my kids and work when I need to be. As someone who is extremely goal-driven, seeing my fitness improve, whether that means beating a previous PR or simply moving up the Leaderboard, keeps me coming back week after week and helps me stay motivated.”
George’s Favorite Classes: HIIT & Hills rides
“Watching my metrics rise has been a great achievement.” –Kate F. (#theDramagirl), Queensland
“I’m what’s called a ‘senior,’ and I have the card to prove it! I’m semi-retired and live alone, my husband has passed, and my kids are grown and adulting elsewhere. One thing that becomes apparent as you get older is the creeping lockdown in your body if you don’t pay attention. Strength, mobility, heart health—all the things you’re warned about losing will come to pass if you don’t get up and do something about it. Plus, if we learned anything from COVID, it’s that life is too short and too precious to muck around with the body you’ve been gifted. I’ve never been a gym goer, but I am a tech junkie, so when Peloton came to Australia, my ears perked up. I first signed up for three months of the Peloton App, and it didn’t take long for me to know that when the Peloton Bike+ became available, I needed to have it.
“Peloton has given me community. I will never forget my first shout-out from Chelsea Jackson Roberts as we started a live mediation class. I felt part of a team during a particularly isolating time. By the fall, I tentatively started Power Zone training and watching my metrics rise has been a great achievement. Understanding how the mind and muscles work together has given me a deeper appreciation for exercise. And the results don’t lie—after a series of tests from my cardiologist this past year, she told me I was the fittest senior she’d ever seen.”

“Peloton motivates me by keeping me accountable for looking after my health.” –Kristin N. (#KristinJN), South Australia
"As a type 1 diabetic, I find it hard to do cardio because my sugars can become unstable quickly. I enjoy exercise, and the Peloton Bike has allowed me to work out at home safely where I can treat low blood sugar levels quickly. I have found that the Peloton family is not only inspiring but also really good for mental health and well-being. I actually look forward to getting on the Bike and sharing the experience with other Members from all over the world.
"Peloton motivates me by keeping me accountable for looking after my health. The instructors constantly remind me that I’m worth it not only in terms of health, but also all aspects of my life including happiness and strength.
Kristin’s Favorite Classes: Cycling, yoga, and stretching
“My head can be a whirlpool of thought, and I’ve found that meditation helps to still the waters.” –Nathan M. (#VICNathanM14), Victoria
"I first heard of Peloton in 2020 when I stumbled upon an online meditation series run by Jennifer Garner and Chelsea Jackson-Roberts. My head can be a whirlpool of thought, and I’ve found that meditation helps to still the waters. So, amidst Melbourne’s lockdowns, I practiced and regularly returned to this series. I joined Peloton shortly after its launch in Australia for Chelsea’s meditations. While I’d spent years running in circles around a 400m track and had done some yoga practice in a friend’s class, I’d had a period where I struggled to balance exercise against working life. During the pandemic I returned to yoga and walking, and Peloton helped me to build on that and create a more regular practice again.
"Just having a live class and a set time to be ready for can be a good motivation kick. Plus it’s nice to see regular faces on the Leaderboard. My greatest sense of achievement came in finding Crow, and now I’m building toward handstand.”

“The community has blown me away.” –Myza W. (#FitFun_Mum), New South Wales
“I was active as a child through my mid-thirties, until I had a terrible accident which took me years to recover from. In that time, not only did my health and fitness decline, but my mental well-being with it. I had friends in the US tell me about Peloton, and it piqued my interest, so much so when I found out I could purchase it early, I did!
“Having instructors at my disposal both live and on demand has given me the opportunity to get back to the workouts that I love. I’m not running marathons or triathlons these days, but my achievements come from improving my FTP and being able to consistently show up and perform for my workouts. The programs in particular give me the structure I need on top of the opportunity to try different types of classes and instructors. The community both locally and globally has also blown me away. The people on this platform give as much support to one another just as much as Peloton instructors do in their classes and on social media.”
Myza’s Favorite Classes: Power Zone rides, strength training with Adrian Williams and Tunde Oyeneyin, running with Becs Gentry, and meditation with Ross Rayburn
