About Me

My name: Angela T.

Find me on the Leaderboard: Andy_ty

I've been a Peloton Member since: 2018

I use the: Bike and App

My occupation: Stay-at-home mom & part-time jewelry designer

To introduce myself: I went from being a CPA working lots of hours to a stay at home mom. It was hard to find time for myself and it took many years to find a balance and make myself a priority . It still is a struggle sometimes, but for me the Peloton has been a tool I use to focus on me. When those headphones are in I'm in the zone and all my other jobs fall to the sidelines for that moment.

A recent fitness achievement I'm proud of: I just completed 500 rides and have worked out for 365 straight days while also caring for my young kids 24/7 during a pandemic.

My most frequently taken class: Alex Toussaint's Lil Wayne Ride or Ally Love's BTS Ride

My advice to other Peloton Members: Putting yourself first for at least 30 minutes of your day can do wonders.

My Favorite...

  • Instructors: Alex Toussaint, Jess Sims, Emma Lovewell, Adrian Williams, Matt Wilpers, Aditi Shah

  • Recovery day class: Focus Flow: Hips with Aditi Shah

  • Class playlist genre: 90's Hip Hop!!!!

  • Post-workout snack: Eggs and avocado

  • Time to work out: Mornings. I like to feel productive going into my day.

Monday

  1. 10 min Lower Body Stretch with Selena Samuela

  2. 30 min Club Bangers Ride with Alex Toussaint

  3. 10 min Arms Toning with Cody Rigsby

Mondays are my busy days, and I only have about an hour before I have to pick up my older son from school. As I wait for my husband to finish his ride, I start a 10 min lower body stretch with Selena Samuela to work out the tightness in my hips and quads. Now it’s my turn to ride and I decide to do a 30 min ride and 10 min arms stack. Looking at my feed, I see that three people from my Peloton community (including my husband) have recently done Alex Toussaint’s 30 min Club Bangers Ride, so I pick that along with Cody’s 10-minute arms. Like every Monday, I always feel sluggish and tired, so I am glad I chose a Club Bangers ride because it definitely put me in a more energized and better mood even though my toddler has taken every single toy out and made a huge mess in my living room while I was riding. Now it’s off to pick up my son and continue the day with all their activities.

Tuesday

  1. 45 min Sweat Steady Ride with Jess King

I like to alternate between 30 min and 45 min cycle classes, so that means I’m due for a 45-minute class today. As I filter by time, I see a Jess King Sweat Steady ride. I have never taken a Sweat Steady ride, so I tap on it to check out the playlist (The Weeknd, DJ Snake, Usher, Drake) I’m in! The intervals were long, hard, and steady and the middle of the class was focused on endurance. Let me tell you…the sweat was for sure heavily dripping throughout the class. I then finished with a 5-minute post ride stretch with Leanne to calm my angry leg muscles down but then my toddler wants to ride his bike around the neighborhood now...so sorry legs…no break for you yet!

Wednesday

  1. 15 min HIIT Cardio with Selena Samuela

  2. 10 min Core Strength with Chase Tucker

  3. 10 min Glutes & Legs Strength with Adrian Williams

  4. 30 min 90’s Yoga Flow with Aditi Shah

Today I wanted to do floor exercises using the Peloton App. I usually start with cardio so I choose a new 15 min HIIT cardio with Selena Samuela. In the first two minutes, my son stops and asks for a snack, so I quickly pause and get him an entire box of blueberries. (Yes, an entire box because I don’t want to be bothered again getting him a refill.) The AMRAPs of mountain climbers and jump squats the last two minutes had me dripping sweat. Now that body is warm, I get into a 10-minute core with Chase Tucker. As I warm up with cat/cows my cat Rory comes under me and starts biting my hands, so I stop and feed her too. NOW that everybody is fed….this should be my last interruption. Next class I choose is a 10-minute Glutes & Legs with Adrian Williams. Now don’t tell him, but I have a crush on him…even after the super hard up and downs and plyo with heavy weights, I can’t be mad at him. Finally, I choose to end this session with a 30-minute 90’s yoga flow with Aditi Shah. It was the perfect ending for this stack and I feel centered and stretched but also feel stronger in my arms and back with all the chaturangas.

Thursday

  1. 30 min Hip Hop Ride with Emma Lovewell

  2. 10 min Arms Toning with Christine D’Ercole

I woke up this morning with some really sore legs, presumably from yesterday’s glutes and legs strength with Adrian. Today, my good friend has her 200th ride milestone and asked me to join her at 2pm for Emma Lovewell’s 30-minute hip hop ride. It’s not easy to work out in the middle of the day. Some of us are moms homeschooling our kids, some of us haven’t been on the bike in months, and some are working through multiple zoom meetings…but somehow, we manage our day to make this 2pm ride for our friend. I noticed I was close to getting a PR so I powered through the last 5 minutes of class trying to beat my last PR only to just meet my last PR. A little disappointed but I see my friend got a PR for her 200th ride and I’m so proud! I then close it out with 10-minute arms toning with Christine D’Ercole, however at the 8 minute mark my son has woken up from his nap and is screaming for me to get him so I get a couple more reps in and end class early.

Friday

  1. 30 min Bob Marley Ride with Denis Morton

  2. 10 min Bob Marley Core Strength with Emma Lovewell

  3. 5 min Lower Body Stretch with Jess Sims

TGIF! I’ve had an unusually busy week, but today is a chill day for me: no appointments, no deadlines, and no kid’s activities planned. To continue the vibe, I’m going to take the 30-minute Bob Marley ride with Denis Morton, 10-minute Bob Marley core with Emma, and 5 min lower body stretch with Jess Sims. Best part of that ride was riding through “Redemption Song.” Emma’s core class also put me in a mood for pina coladas, so I’m definitely making those this weekend.

Saturday

  1. 45 min Pop Ride with Hannah Corbin

  2. 5 min Cool Down Ride with Ally Love

  3. 10 min Core Strength with Ben Alldis

My sweet husband is home today so that means I can do a longer workout while he plays with the kids. I choose a 45-minute Pop Ride with Hannah Corbin, 5-minute cool down ride with Ally Love, and a 10-minute core with Ben Alldis. My output on the ride is a lot lower than normal and I am totally ok with that. Also, since my husband is home I’m going to take advantage of a long shower. Yay weekends!

Sunday

  1. 20 min Prenatal HIIT Ride with Robin Arzón

  2. 10 min Arms Toning with Hannah Corbin

  3. 30 min Yoga Flow with Chelsea Jackson Roberts

I saw some new classes from Robin dropped so I take a 20-minute Prenatal HIIT ride with Robin. No, I am not pregnant but I’ve been before and sometimes I feel like I still am with my constant sore hips…so I’m sure I’ll benefit from this class. I love the message Robin is sending and doing what she knows is best for her body while pregnant. I was always active during my pregnancies and always felt I could continue to do so while others told me I couldn’t. This class was just as challenging as any other HIIT class and I loved the intentional focus on breathing. I then added on 10-minute arms with Hannah Corbin and 30 min yoga with Chelsea Jackson Roberts to close out the week and rein it all in.
