Will It Fit? Our Favorite Ways To Put A Peloton In A Small Space
Making room for your new Bike is easier than you think.

Will it fit? Whether you’re low on square footage, have lots of furniture to work around, or have family members or roommates to consider, finding the perfect spot for your new Peloton equipment can feel daunting. But making space for the Peloton Bike or Bike+ is way easier than you think, we promise.
The key to finding the right setup is to think of your Bike as a “piece of practical décor,” says set decorator and home décor podcaster Beth Kushnick. The Bike’s small space-friendly dimensions are just 2 feet by 4 feet, which means you only need to make slight adjustments to your home for it to fit. Some suggestions: arrange the Bike catty-corner in an alcove, replace a living room chair with the Bike, or slip the Bike behind your sofa. You can always hide your Peloton from view with a folding screen if you want privacy while working out, but as Kushnick says, “Exposing your Peloton is the best motivation to use it often.”
Many of our Members have set up cozy workout nooks that are decked out with inspiration and accessories that keep them motivated and happy throughout their workout. Here are some of our favorites from around the Peloton community.
Jacki Jenkins squeezed her Peloton into the 15x11-foot home office she shares with her husband. When she takes classes, she rolls the office chair out of the room—and sometimes papers have to be shoved out of the way for floor workouts. “I try not to let the clutter bother me,” Jacki says. She even made space for her 3-year-old daughter’s ride, a small toy bike that’s been spray painted to look like a mini Peloton. “My daughter flexes her muscles and says, ‘I’m strong like Mommy!’”
PJ Copponi placed his Bike+ in an upstairs room that was typically used for storage. He had to rearrange his closets to make it work, but he and his significant other both agreed that fitting in a Peloton was a priority. “This was an easy compromise,” he says. The touchscreen on the Bike+ rotates 360 degrees, so whoever is working out on the floor can see the instructor from the side mat. And there’s a place between the Bike+ and the wall for cycling shoes, resistance bands, foam rollers, and other accessories.
Lori Walker’s Peloton started out in her dining room, but when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, she had to convert that area into her home office. So now her Bike has taken up permanent residence in her master closet. Lori currently lives alone, but she says that if she were to get married, she’d expect her partner to make room for her Peloton too. “That would be in the pre-nup,” she jokes.
Holly Jensen’s Bike+ is in her bedroom, squeezed between her bed and a window. To do Bike Bootcamp classes, she swivels the screen to face the only available floor space—across the room on the other side of the bed. Sure, sometimes she has to sneak sideways past the Bike, but she makes it work!
This area in Sharon Cooper’s house originally doubled as a playroom and crafting space, but when her family began learning and working remotely during the pandemic, they needed to rearrange. Sharon moved her Peloton in and relocated the toys and craft supplies. Now, she keeps her weights and shoes on the Bike and has a stand in front for her yoga mat, speaker and heart rate monitor, along with a two-tier shelf for her hat, head bands, towels and fan. As a final touch, she added some decorative items to keep her motivated during classes.
