Headed on a trip but want to keep your Peloton workout streak going? You’re in luck: There are hundreds of hotel gyms around the world that come equipped with Peloton Bikes. So regardless of whether you're traveling overseas, hanging 10 on a sandy beach, or visiting the Statue of Liberty, you can still stay on track with your fitness journey. Read on for seven tips and tricks to have the best possible experience working out with Peloton at a hotel gym.
1. Map Out Your Trip
For starters, you need the Peloton Hotel Finder. This handy map can help you locate a Peloton Bike at hotels across the US, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom and Germany—so make sure to check the site before you book any travel accommodations.
2. Refresh Your Memory
If it’s been a while since your Peloton equipment or App prompted you to type in your password, make sure you know your account credentials before you head out on your travels. Logging into your personal account at the gym will keep you earning blue dots towards streaks and badges, as well as allowing you to access stacks and track Power Zone metrics. Just don't forget to log out after class is over!
3. Jot Down Your Bike Settings
You may be the only person using your Peloton Bike at home, but that definitely won't be the case while you're on vacation. So make sure to take a picture of your Bike settings before you board your flight or pack your car. That way, you won’t have to waste precious class time jumping on and off as you try to remember what height the saddle should be at.
4. Swap Out Your Shoes
Many hotels have dual-sided pedals that let you use your cycling shoes or regular gym shoes. However, some may have toe cages or a different set of clips than you’re used to, so check your hotel’s profile on the Peloton Hotel Finder and pack your bags accordingly.
5. Don't Forget Headphones
The hotel gym might be noisy, so if you want to work out in peace, you’ll need to bring your favorite earbuds or headphones. Not only will they block out distractions, but they'll also help you better hear the amazing playlists our instructors have curated for you.
6. Hydration Station
Climbing hills with Emma Lovewell or doing intervals with Cody Rigsby will definitely leave you drenched in sweat and feeling thirsty. Make sure to pack your favorite water bottle, so you can stay hydrated before, during, and after your workout.
7. Be Flexible, Literally
The truth is that Peloton Bikes are a hot commodity at many hotels. So you may need to wait your turn or come up with an alternate plan if you show up and find all the Bikes are in use. Don't despair, though, if there are 10 people ahead of you in line. Rather than throwing in the towel, try grabbing a floor mat or light weights and take a yoga or strength class on the Peloton App instead. It’s all about getting that movement in, one way or another!
Going somewhere soon? The Peloton App has the classes you need to stay healthy and strong while you travel.
