Welcome to the Peloton family! You’ve probably got some questions—but don’t worry, we’ve got you. These are some of the queries that frequently pop up in our community.

Does Everyone in My Family Need Their Own Membership?

If you’re using the Bike, Bike+, Tread, or Row, your subscription covers an unlimited number of users per household. But if you’re exclusively a Peloton App user, each person will need their own account.

Where Should I Put My Bike?

If you live in a small home or apartment, you may be worried about where to fit your new equipment. But rest assured—the Bike is easier to squeeze in than you think, as its dimensions are just two feet by four feet. Need some inspiration? Check out these creative solutions from our Members.

How Do I Adjust My Bike Fit?

You can find this tutorial on your Bike touchscreen in a series of videos called Peloton 101. This is a series of videos that outline how to adjust your Bike for a more comfortable ride. To find it, log in to your Peloton account and tap on the three bar settings icon in the bottom right-hand side of your home screen. Select “Peloton 101” and press the play button.

Which Class Should I Try First?

You may want to start with a beginner class, which will help you get accustomed to the proper form and technique. Once you’ve got that down, many of our Members recommend trying our All for One classes for cycling, running, strength, and yoga from 7/2/20. The instructors took turns leading the class, so you’ll sample each of their styles.

What's the Difference Between Live, Encore, and On-Demand Classes?

Live classes are streamed live from our studios and taken in real time with other Members. Encore classes are previously recorded classes streamed as if they were live, with a fresh live Leaderboard. On-demand classes are previously recorded classes available to take any time.

How Often Should I Work Out?

That depends on your goals, as well as your recovery needs. If you just crushed a tough Tabata class, your muscles will probably need at least one to two days off, according to Yuri Feito, Ph.D., associate professor of exercise science at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. But if you’re sticking to a more moderate intensity, you may need just one active rest day a week. Opt for something low-impact like yoga, stretching or foam rolling—all of which can be found on Peloton Digital. We know it may be hard to step away from the Bike or Tread, but giving your body time to recover will ultimately help you grow stronger. Read more about what happens to your body on a rest day.

Why Does My ____ Hurt?

As you're getting adjusted to the Peloton Bike, some discomfort in your seat is normal, and most Members report that with regular riding, it goes away within one to two weeks. Similarly, sore quads and calves are common for both beginner runners and cyclists. However, pain in your back, knees, or ankles could indicate an issue with your form, so make sure to watch the full Bike setup video to properly fit your Peloton Bike. It’s also just as important to run in good sneakers and pay attention to your body position and gait on the Tread.

What Does it Mean to Follow Someone?

Following someone on Peloton means that you can easily see someone’s workout history and when they’re working out at the same time you are. If you’re taking the same class, you can even filter the Leaderboard to show only those you follow. Read more about Peloton’s community features and our support article on how to add friends.

How Do I Unclip?

That’s a great question, as unclipping can be a tricky skill to learn at first! There are a few different ways to think about it, which is why we put together a video on our Instagram, with different instructors sharing their techniques for unclipping.

How Do I Care for My Bike or Tread?

Follow our Members’ tried and trusted solutions for keeping your Bike or Tread clean. While you’re at it, you should regularly tighten the bolts, wipe down the surfaces, and check for any wear and tear. (See more detailed instructions on caring for your Tread and Bike.)

Can I Use Peloton While I’m Traveling?

Hundreds of hotels around the country have Peloton equipment on site for guests to use on trips. Find one with our Hotel Finder or check out a few of our favorite destinations. You can also book a class on the Bike or Tread at one of our showrooms. And don’t forget, you can always get your sweat on in your hotel room (or a nearby gym) using the Peloton App, which comes included in your Peloton All-Access Membership.

Can I Delete a Workout?

Yes, you can, by navigating to your profile on your Peloton equipment or the Peloton App and selecting the specific workout that you’d like to delete.
