Team @ Peloton
Peloton Power Moves Blog Interview - Marion Eason

Three years ago, something inside Marion Eason was pulling her to a new career. She was working as a stagehand, craving a job that would satisfy her passion for health and fitness.
Back then, Peloton was completely unknown to her, but after a stint as a Seasonal Field Specialist delivering bikes to Peloton Members, she was encouraged to learn more about what the company offered. Inspired by her co-worker’s personal tales of professional success, including the direct encouragement of her manager, Eason felt comfortable communicating her desired career development path. “Between my manager, my supervisors, and the team...I am truly grateful for all of the support that I’ve been given,“ Eason happily recounts. Eason’s manager has remained a supportive figure throughout her career journey, a reflection of the bond employees here create by embracing open dialogue with one another.
At Peloton, she’s found a community amongst her teammates and Peloton Members. Beginning her journey at Peloton as a Field Specialist, Marion embraced her role as a front-line ambassador and product expert, delivering support and guidance to Members throughout the entire delivery and installation experience. Seizing on the opportunity for personal and professional growth, Marion earned a promotion to Lead Field Specialist, where her new responsibilities included assisting in the onboarding and educational training of new hires, along with serving as the first point of contact for Field Teams on the road.
This month, Marion is pedaling forward in her professional development after being promoted to Team Lead. The upcoming role means Marion will interact with managers and supervisors on a regular basis to address day-to-day tasks and inquiries. We talked to Marion about her Peloton journey, how she’s inspiring others to become the best they can be, and keeping up all the good team vibes.
When did you start working at Peloton and what brought you here?
My job prior to this was stagehand work, and I was feeling an inner something pulling on me. I'm very passionate about health and fitness, both in terms of what I put into my body and the physical aspect of working out. I stumbled across Peloton, but I had no idea who or what Peloton was. I did my research and read about the company and said to myself, I'm going to apply for this job.
I got hired back in December 2018 and started off as a seasonal field specialist. A lot has changed since then, but at the time seasonal field specialists would only stay on for about three or four months. The season came to an end and they let me go, but not even two weeks later, I got a call saying a full-time position opened up—and I of course jumped at the opportunity.
This past November, I got promoted to a lead field specialist, and later this month I’ll be moving up to team lead. It’s been an awesome, amazing ride. Now I get to hire people who are just as eager as I was at the beginning, and train them how to give that five-star delivery service every time.
I’ve learned so much in the short time I’ve been here. I’m just taking it all in and loving it. It’s been an amazing journey thus far, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

What makes working at Peloton unique?
I’ve never worked at a company like Peloton. Even as seasonal team members, we felt welcomed in and part of the company. Getting out into the field and connecting with different Members about fitness—whether they’ve never been on an indoor stationary bike before or whether they’re pros— is what really sold me on the company. That’s when I said, “this is a place I want to be.”
Members are learning from us out in the field, but I’m also learning from them because we’re delivering to all ages, all races, all genders, all backgrounds. And it’s not about us just dropping off a bike and leaving, it’s really about that connection and the experience with that member.
Do you have any favorite moments with Peloton Members?
I had on one of our Peloton windbreaker jackets when I was off work one day, and I stopped to pick up some food. So I’m just there, minding my business, and out of nowhere this woman says “Do you work for Peloton?! Do you have bikes on you?!”
Members look at us like mini-celebrities. It’s unbelievable. You’re just kind of taken aback by how appreciative they are of the service we give. They’re looking forward to coming out, taking a picture with the van, taking a picture with us.
I love our Members. I love how they react to us and I love reacting to them. I feed off their energy and I just love it.
What would you say to someone who’s interested in joining Peloton as a field specialist?
Be ready for something different, be ready for something you’ve never experienced before. I tell my new hires all the time, each customer is different, so you’re going to have a different experience each time you deliver a bike.
Play off their energy. If their energy is high, be high with them. If their energy is a little low, maybe they’re timid, maybe it’s their first time spinning or getting on a bike, bring their energy up and get them involved. We’re a “people” company. Have fun with it.
What’s the company culture like where you work in Secaucus?
It’s definitely a vibe here. In the mornings when I’m greeting my field specialists, I’ll have the music blasting to get them pumped and to get them going, and spend time checking in with everyone to make sure they’re all right. It’s definitely a welcoming vibe.
Before the pandemic, a bunch of us would periodically go over to the studio and have competitions and ride with each other and go see the instructors—I can’t wait to do that again. It’s a fun job. I think everybody in the department would agree with that!
Do you have a favorite Peloton value?
Together we go far. Before I joined Peloton, I didn’t know that the word itself means a group of cyclists that ride together, that go far together.
It’s such a great metaphor for what we actually do too. Some people might take the lead at some points, some people might have to take a recovery ride, and some people will push forward, then that person will take a recovery ride. So I love, love that value. It’s really meaningful, especially since we are moving at a pretty intense pace right now.
Are there any skills from your stagehand work that you brought with you to Peloton?
This may sound a little corny, but the show must go on. We must represent and bring joy to our customers. We’re going to do our very best to make sure the customer is satisfied and happy and taken care of by any means. We must get these bikes out to our customers and give them that awesome delivery experience. And we must perform at all times—the first customer and that last customer are still going to get the same experience.
What’s next for you at Peloton?
I definitely want to continue to grow in the field ops department, and can see a future for myself here. That’s another good thing about Peloton: They like to promote from within, which is awesome.
I want to see how far I can go with this company because I really truly do love it. I’m very passionate about what I do and how I work.
