About Me

My name: Nathalie S.

Find me on the Leaderboard: Nats_sweet_ride

I've been a Peloton Member since: 2019

I use the: Tread, Bike and App

My occupation: Accounting Clerk

To introduce myself: My name is Nathalie. I live in Ontario, Canada and am a mom of four teenagers/young adults, two golden retrievers, five alpacas and a handful of laying hens! In my spare time, I work full-time as an accounting clerk.

A recent fitness achievement I'm proud of: I'm working towards hitting my millennium ride. When I first started with Peloton, that seemed unachievable.

My most frequently taken class: 30 min Pop Rides

My advice to other Peloton Members: Do your workout first thing in the morning before everyone else is awake. It's hard to get out of bed at first, but stick with it—it gets easier, and the rest of the day, you feel amazing!

My favorite...

  • Instructors: Cody Rigsby, Sam Yo, Selena Samuela

  • Recovery day class: Power Zone Endurance Ride

  • Class playlist genre: Pop

  • Post-workout snack: Protein shake and a banana

  • Time to work out: 5:00 AM

My Week

MONDAY

  1. 30 min 90s Ride with Cody Rigsby.

  2. 20 min 90s Ride with Leanne Hainsby

  3. 20 min 90s Run with Selena Samuela

5:00 AM sure comes early after the weekend! Stacking my workouts in the Peloton App the night before helps me feel more committed and pushes me out of bed, and I head down to our home gym. Fill up my water bottles, turn the fan on to full and get my day started with a 30-minute 90s ride with Cody! The first 10 minutes into my ride, I question why I’m doing this, and I want to just go back to bed. Once I push through those first 10 minutes, I’m feeling great, and before I know it, it’s over—and next thing I know, I’m in the top 10% of the Leaderboard in my 90s ride with Leanne! I then change my shoes and head over the Tread and go for a quick 20-minute 90s run with Selena. Yah, I guess you could say I have a thing for the 90s.

TUESDAY

  1. 60 min Climb Ride with Christine D’Ercole

  2. 20 min 80s Run with Rebecca Kennedy

Now that Monday is out of the way, getting out of bed is a bit easier. This morning, I feel strong and motivated, so I select a 60-minute climb ride with Christine. These heavy resistant, slower RPM rides are one of my favorite types of rides. The way the efforts are broken up into smaller sections makes the 60 minutes fly by. I got enough of the 90s yesterday, so I decide to go back another decade and do a 20-minute 80s run with Rebecca. Her fun spirit always gives me energy, and I end up finishing in the top 25% of the Leaderboard, which as a Tread newbie, I’m quite pleased.

WEDNESDAY

  1. 60 min Climb Ride with Christine D’Ercole

  2. 20 min 2010s Run with Chase Tucker

Hump day! I’m feeling great from yesterday’s climb ride and decide to give another 60-minute climb with Christine another go. My legs are working against me a bit today, and the efforts feel a bit tougher! Over to the Tread for a 2010s run with Chase where I crank up the elevation and actually hit a new personal best speed at 8.0. The 20 minutes fly by. I’m feeling very proud of myself while I get ready for work, pack the families’ lunches and head out to feed the animals.

THURSDAY

  1. 45 min Interval & Arms Ride with Cody Rigsby

  2. 10 min Cool Down with Cody Rigsby

  3. 20 min Pop Run with Matty Maggiacomo

Time to give the legs a bit of a break today and bring in some arms with a 45-minute interval and arms ride with Cody. I’m always amazed at how heavy two lbs. of weight feels! I make a promise to myself to do more strength training so this isn’t so hard, but I love the biking and running way too much and know I likely won’t keep that promise. That ride was way harder than I expected, so I need a 10-minute cool down ride before my run. Feeling better now I do a quick 20-minute pop run with Matty. The playlist was perfect and exactly what I needed to wrap up my work week!

FRIDAY

  1. 30 min Live DJ Ride with Cody Rigsby

  2. 30 min RuPaul Drag Race Ride

  3. 30 min Walk Run with Chase Tucker

I don’t work Fridays, so I give myself an extra hour of sleep and don’t get up until 6:00 AM. Even with the extra hour, I’m slow to get out of bed and have the usual Friday debate with myself: “Should I take today off?” or “Maybe I’ll just work out later.” I pick up my phone to start scrolling through social media, and there’s my Peloton App staring right at me. I open the app to see what’s new and spot a new live DJ ride with Cody. That was all the motivation I needed; I’m heading down to the gym excited to start my workout. The 30-minute live DJ ride was awesome. I love the way Cody and DJ John Michael interact with each other! I decide to keep the party going and do another 30-minute RuPaul Drag Race ride which was so much fun. The music was great, and I’m feeling awesome. I gave it my all in the first two rides and decide to do a 30-minute walk run with Chase to finish out the week.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY

On Saturdays and Sundays, I take a break from the home gym and try to spend as much time as I can outside with the family mountain biking, hiking and working around our hobby farm. Already looking forward to next week! If you want to join me for a run or ride, you can follow me: Nats_sweet_ride.
